As announced by Arkansas Governor Asa Hutchinson and the Arkansas Department of Health on March 30, 2021, the Mask mandate has been lifted for Arkansas!  The Arkansas Department of Health has updated its Face Coverings Guidance Effective April 1, 2021 which can be viewed at, as well as many other helpful publications on the fight against Covid-19. Therefore, effective April 1, 2021, mask are not required when entering City buildings or on City properties unless otherwise posted.  The City of Alma has consistently complied with the directives of the Arkansas Governor and the Arkansas Department of Health throughout the pandemic and will continue to so.   Even though the Mask Mandate is no longer in place, we ask that everyone continue to make a mask part of their daily wardrobe and respect any business that chooses to continue the requirement of a mask to enter their facility.  The City of Alma continues to encourage the use of a mask whenever social distancing is not achievable, rather indoors or outdoors , and to continue good practices to prevent the spread of illness,  such as frequent handwashing, regularly disinfecting frequently touched surfaces and social distancing whenever possible.  We want to thank each of you for your patience, support and kindness toward others throughout this pandemic and simply ask that we continue these wholesome actions as we work our way back to normal business routines!
