Alma recognizes the value of trees. Trees are valuable assets that beautify our city, improve quality of life, and protect our environment. The many benefits of trees are well-researched and include reduced heating and cooling costs, reduced runoff, erosion control, cleaner air, and happier, healthier communities.
Tree Advisory Board
The Tree Advisory Board works to ensure that Alma’s public trees are well cared for, protected from construction damage, and properly managed to reduce storm damage. The board advises City Council on issues of urban forestry and participates in community outreach events, such as the city’s annual Arbor Day celebration.
