Join us Saturday morning October 19th from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.. for a family friendly trail building opportunity! In a partnership with the community of Alma, Arkansas, the Frontier Ozark Off Road Cyclists are excited to announce the beginning of construction of new multiuse trails at Lake Alma in Alma, Arkansas with volunteer opportunities to build new trail for hikers, mountain bikers, trail runners, and dog walkers starting in April of 2019. In 2017, the Frontier OORC (or FOORC) began exploring new multiuse trail opportunities at the 400+ acre Lake Alma Public Park. With funding secured from business owners in Alma, the FOORC partnered with Progressive Trail Design to masterplan the park property for future multiuse trails. FOORC will be hosting volunteer trail building opportunities to construct the first mile of multiuse trail, a first for the community. Once complete the new section will connect into an existing lake loop and open almost 4 miles of trails to all user groups including mountain bikers. These hosted volunteer opportunities are open to everyone and are family-friendly. We ask that volunteers please wear sturdy shoes and bring gloves and hydration. The FOORC will provide the tools and education. We’ll stage at the main trailhead off N Mountain Grove Rd. in Alma, Arkansas. Come play in the dirt with the FOORC!
